Our Story
From a Yorkshire factory to the farms of Oyo.
A story of heritage, integrity and handcraft — made slowly, made thoughtfully, made to be shared.
Where it began
A family legacy rooted in York's chocolate heritage.
Grandma's Cocoa House was inspired by a family legacy that began in one of York's renowned chocolate factories, where our grandmother worked, following in the footsteps of her own mother before her. Their hard work, dedication, and love of chocolate have been passed down through the generations.
Today, we honour that heritage by crafting bean-to-bar chocolate the way Grandma believed it should be made — slowly, carefully, and with nothing to hide.

What we stand for
Pure by principle, not by trend.
No Emulsifiers
Emulsifiers mask poor technique. We'd rather refine our craft than reach for a shortcut. Every bar is proof that great chocolate needs nothing added.
No Palm Oil
Palm oil is cheap and convenient. We will never use it — not for cost, not for texture, not for any reason.
Oyo State Cacao
Our cocoa beans are sourced from Oyo State, Nigeria — grown in fertile soil and harvested by skilled farmers whose knowledge has been passed down through generations.
Small Batch
We make in small batches, by hand. Maple sugar, milk powder, Celtic sea salt, pure vanilla. Nothing more, nothing less.
What goes in
Six ingredients. Nothing hidden.
Our sourcing
From the farms of Oyo State, Nigeria.
Our cocoa beans are grown in the fertile soil of Oyo State, Nigeria, and harvested by skilled farmers whose knowledge has been passed down through generations. From bean to bar, we honour both origin and tradition — paying fairly and building relationships that last.
